STAGE 1 OF THE PROJECT WAS TO BUILD NEW MEETING ROOMS AND COMMUNITY TOILETS WAS COMPLETED IN DEC 2017
Located on Darlington Oval in the heart of Darlington Village, Western Australia, the Darlington Community Pavilion is not just for the benefit of local sporting groups. It will be a multi-use facility that has a functional area for use by sporting and other clubs and is intended to become a key resource for local community groups.
The Project is in two stages and is the first community-built project of its kind in the area. Stage one is now complete and includes a new meeting room, office, public toilets, storage space, paving and parking facilities.
Stage two involves upgrading the old, sub-standard building which will include expanding the canteen, refurbishing the change-rooms and upgrading wet areas and once complete, will be joined to stage one to create a facility that represents an example of what can be achieved through partnership between community, local organisations and State and Local Government.
The site will become the office for many local groups and a storage area for use by organisations such as the Darlington Arts Festival. It has an all round stage area overlooking the oval which will feature prominently in future community functions and events.
This project is an outstanding community effort. All Planning Approvals, Consulting, Design and Construction is being co-ordinated and fully funded by the Community.
